Zalkin to Debut Innovative Capping Technology at Pack Expo Las Vegas 2023

New Standard for Capping
Zalkin will showcase the iMo.CA Multi-Head capper, a state-of-the-art capper that advances capping technology for screw-on, roll-on, and push-on applications. It has a hygienic machine design for easy cleanability, and a lube-free turret construction which reduces the possibility of contamination. With an intuitive HMI interface that allows easier preventative maintenance, the iMo.CA Multi-Head capper is designed with quick changeover parts to reduce changeover time, providing more production up-time.
Delivering Solutions for Niche Markets
Attendees will also witness the debut of the brand new FTM-300 TANDEM (FTM-300T) for large format containers. This new TANDEM capper features dual capping heads providing a 50% increase in operating speeds. Speeds up to 36 BPM on 35# JIB containers can be achieved, compared to only 24 BPM on our traditional single head FTM-300 cappers. Although it is faster than the single head FTM-300 capper, the FTM-300T has the same footprint, allowing for easy upgrades to existing production lines.
While Zalkin saw the demand for a higher speed in our FTM-300 cappers, they also saw the demand for an integrated inspection system for the JIB containers. Therefore, Zalkin created the Assurance of Capping Integrity (ACI) system for the single head FTM-300 and FTM-300 TANDEM. The ACI system supplies 100% inspection for every cap applied to ensure proper quality.

Returning Cappers, Upgrades & Retrofits
Attendees will also see Zalkin’s proven technologies in operation this year. They will exhibit single head TM-3 cappers displaying Zalkin’s servomotor cap application technologies which features on-line torque measurement. The TM-3 has a double pass roll-on technology which applies aluminum closures to aluminum bottles. Finally, they will also showcase a wide variety of innovative technologies that can be retrofitted on to machines currently in use. This display highlights the improvements of construction materials that provide enhanced corrosion resistance and lube-free designs for capping heads and headslides. This display shows Zalkin’s promise to find innovative solutions for current and future customer needs.
